1st August 2002 - A new version of the
Tobit InfoCenter client that provides mobile workers with complete
unified messaging while not connected to their server has been released by Tobit Software.
"Tobit Mobile DvISE" provides a new InfoCenter
client that keeps a synchronised copy of the users personal archives, stored
locally on the notebook or workstation PC. If a connection to the server is
not available when the mobile InfoCenter starts, it will go into off-line
mode, using the local archives. Now while away from the office, users can
work with a familiar software interface to create messages in the normal way
- eMail, fax or SMS. These messages wait in the job queue on the local
workstation until synchronisation, at which point they are transferred to
the DvISE server for transmission. The synchronisation process also updates
the users in and outbox and other folders. For a tour of the InfoCenter Client click here.
21st June 2002 - Tobit Software
has released a VoiceMail Add-On for use
with David Professional that significantly enhances the VoiceMail
functionality of David Pro - turning it into a fully featured VoiceMail
platform. Called the "VoiceMail Plus Pack", it will be available as an
upgrade to the standard VoiceMail script that ships with David Pro from
Microwise by the end of June. It contains a Night Service, Holiday Service,
Auto Attendant and advanced remote access and conference call recording
facilities.
5th May 2002 - Tobit Software has announced the release of the Server Location Service (SLS), as
a new feature of its range of unified messaging products. Server Location
Service is a Dynamic DNS service available to customers at no extra charge. SLS
enables small businesses to provide their remote or mobile users with access
to their inbox, without the need for a permanent Internet connection or a
fixed IP address for the host server. Remote users can dial any ISP and access the server at their office simply by going to a
unique URL eg. http://companyname.tobit.net.
Here they can retrieve all of their
messages (email, fax, voicemail, sms) via the DvISE web based remote access
client, and also create and send new messages.
29th April 2002 - Microwise has recently been appointed as the
Authorised Distributor of Tobit Software in the Asia Pacific region, and will be providing support,
training and consulting services to resellers and customers using these
products. This will complement Microwise's other business offerings
which include specialist consulting
services in the areas of Project Management, Systems Integration, and Network
Design.
