Named Users
All DvISE (David Information Server Engine) based products are licensed
on a named user rather than a connection basis. An individual user will have
an account set up on the server in
their specific name.
The software will only allow the number of user's names that corresponds
with the user count of the licence code(s) entered under Databases->Licences in the DvISE
Administrator, to be configured at any one time.
Additional DvISE user licences can be purchased as required. The add-on
user licences are common across the DvISE server product range.
Hardware Ports
All DvISE based products are also licensed on the number of hardware
ports that can be activated. All Starter packs come with one hardware port
licence as standard, ie. one Fax Modem or one ISDN B Channel may be
used.
Additional port licences can be purchased as required as a separate licence
code. A single RJ45 interface 2 channel ISDN board would therefore require an
additional port licence to be purchased on top of the starter pack, so that
the 2nd port available on it could be activated.
